February 2026

Comunn Eachdraidh Eige congratulates Solas Eige SCIO for completing the acquisition of St Columba's church on 27 February 2026! Comunn Eachdraidh Eige is looking forward to partnering with Solas Eige SCIO on the heritage and archive part of the building's transformation into Ionad Solas Eige / Solas Eige Centre. 

September 2025

Solas Eige SCIO was finally awarded its Scottish Land Fund acquisition and essential repairs funding in September 2025 after re-submitting its application in June 2025. Great achievement for the group who was supported all the way by Comunn Eachdraidh Eige!

November 2024

  £6000 have been raised towards the acquisition of the church by the Eigg community through the Comunn Eachdraidh Eige campaig and the Solas Eige Crowdfunder Prizedraw campaign.

A new Conservation plan has been produced for the church and Comunn Eachdraidh Eige is now teeming with Highland Archives to consolidate the island 's archive plan.

"A history of Eigg in 27 objects": as Eigg celebrate its 27th Anniversary as a community trust, a selection of objects from our archive is on show at St Columba's church to help you make sense of our island history throughout the ages!
